Violinist ReikoViolinist Reiko | Violinist based in Osaka

I am a violinist from Osaka. I grew up in a musical family — my grandmother was a pianist and my mother played the cello — and I began the piano at the age of three and the violin at four. After graduating from the Faculty of Music at Soai University, I completed the master course at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Rooted in classical music yet centred on jazz, I bring you borderless performances that cross genre boundaries, taking in Latin, pop, Spanish and gypsy jazz.

I won the Grand Prix at the Kanazawa Jazz Competition, and have appeared as a backing band member on BS NHK's "Shin Nippon no Uta". Based in Osaka, I perform live all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. As well as playing at live houses, hotels and restaurants, I also take on live performance engagements for weddings, parties and corporate events.

Alongside performing, I run a violin and piano music school in Fuse, Higashiosaka and in central Osaka, and devote myself to teaching the next generation. See the full profile here.
