Lessons are one-to-one rather than in groups, and we teach carefully even those picking up an instrument for the very first time.

Rather than fixed courses, we decide the content together after hearing what you would like to do. Please start with a trial lesson.

About

Private lessons tailored
to each individual pace

Rei Violin & Piano Music School is a music school offering private violin and piano lessons at studios in Fuse, Higashiosaka and in central Osaka. Because we teach one-to-one rather than in groups, you can progress at your own pace without worrying about anyone else.

For those touching an instrument for the first time, we teach carefully from the basics, such as how to hold the instrument and how to produce a sound. For those with experience, we build the content around the pieces you are aiming for and the techniques you want to acquire. There is no fixed curriculum, so whether you want to enjoy it slowly as a hobby or take it up in earnest, please feel free to talk to us.

Your instructor continues to perform across a wide range of genres, including jazz, Latin and gypsy jazz, on a foundation of classical music. Alongside classical fundamentals, we can also accommodate requests to play popular and jazz pieces.

Flow

How lessons work

Rather than fixed courses, we decide the content of each lesson together with you. After hearing about the pieces you would like to play, your goals and how often you can attend, we proceed at a pace that suits you.

STEP 01

Enquiry

Please first get in touch by email or via the school LINE account.

STEP 02

Consultation

We will ask about the instrument you would like to play, your goals, the days and times that suit you, and which studio you prefer. We will also explain the lesson content, frequency and fees at this point.

STEP 03

Trial lesson

Take a lesson first, then take your time to decide. You are also welcome to ask about instruments here.

Lesson fees, duration and frequency are decided after discussing them with you.

Instructor

Your instructor

Your instructor is Reiko, a violinist from Osaka. She began the piano at the age of three and the violin at four, and after graduating from the Faculty of Music at Soai University she completed the master course at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

She won the Grand Prix at the Kanazawa Jazz Competition, and continues to perform all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, while based in Osaka. The expression she has developed on stage feeds directly into her teaching.

For more about her career and performing activities, see the full profile here.

She has thirty years of teaching experience. She has taught students of all ages, from children to adults, and has sent students on to music universities. She currently also teaches at a high school, working in education both at the school and in her own studio.

Your instructor has raised children herself. That is precisely why she values watching over each child's growth warmly, and nurturing through music the joy and confidence that come from being able to say "I did it!"

Lessons proceed carefully, matched to each person's own pace and goals, from complete beginners to experienced players. If you would like to start as an adult, please feel free to get in touch. Let us enjoy a rich life filled with music together, through the violin.

One month of lessons

Recently she has become able to hold the instrument on her own, without the teacher's help. She says it is fun now that she can play the violin.
